Sexual assault victims. Repeals (from Title 16) and replaces (in Title 35) a chapter relating to victims of sexual assault. Specifies that law enforcement officers, providers, or victim advocates shall order medical forensic examinations to be conducted at a sexual assault treatment center (rather than at a general hospital) when practicable. Specifies that all nonanonymous sexual assault kits be transferred to the Indiana state police crime laboratory or the Marion County crime laboratory, as appropriate, for analysis and entry into the Combined DNA Index System not later than 30 days after law enforcement obtains the sexual assault kit. Provides for

the establishment of a sexual assault response team (SART) in a county without a SART, and specifies members of a SART. Defines "sexual assault forensic examiner" (SAFE) and specifies the duties of a SAFE. Requires SARTs to develop a plan for the treatment of sexual assault crime victims, and specifies certain provisions that must be included in the plan. Establishes mandatory sexual violence response training requirements. Makes conforming amendments. Establishes mandatory sexual violence response training requirements.
