Minority student teaching stipend and school capital improvements. Provides that a minority student who participates in a school administration internship as part of the student's graduate degree program is eligible to receive a stipend from, currently, the student teaching stipend for minorities. Provides that with the approval of the governor and the budget agency, the amount appropriated in the 2015 budget bill for the distressed unit appeals board (DUAB) for the 2015-2017 biennium, may be augmented from unexpended appropriations to the department of education in an amount specified by

Provides that with the approval of the governor and the budget agency, the amount appropriated in the 2015 budget bill for the distressed unit appeals board (DUAB) for the 2015-2017 biennium, may be augmented from unexpended appropriations to the department of education in an amount specified by
the budget agency, but not to exceed $500,000. Specifies that a financial specialist selected for a school corporation may submit a request to the DUAB for a grant to the school corporation to be used for capital improvements that are necessary to ensure that one or more of the school corporation's school buildings remain open for educational instruction. Provides that upon such a request, the DUAB may, after review by the budget committee, provide a grant to the school corporation for such capital improvements. Specifies that such a grant shall be paid from the amounts appropriated for the DUAB for the 2015-2017 biennium, and that the amount of the grant may not exceed the amount by which the appropriation for the DUAB is augmented.
